Mission Statement

PREP Community Services (Providing Resources Empowering People)

PREP Community Services is an organization offering Health & Social Services. Our focus is to provide resources to empower those in need. At PREP Community Services we provide essential resources for veterans, individuals, and families. Our mission is to ensure those in need have resources such as food, housing, mental health counseling, and educational guidance. The organization operates Wanda Hilliard Food Bank, distributing food to those experiencing food deprivation.

We help veterans transition from military service into the civilian sector by providing career counseling. The organization also provides transitional housing for homeless veterans and families. The initiative is to ensure those in need are being cared for with resources designed to help them to become self-sufficient.

Our focus is to help kids improve in academics by providing tutoring, school supplies and counseling. Our staff’s goal is to be an advocate for students and provide academic guidance. We also offer adult education to those seeking to acquire a GED or vocational training.

We believe that everyone should have access to basic resources and be empowered to become a productive member of society. PREP Community Services is eager to help those who are in need!

Children's Education / Educacion Infantile

Our Children’s Education / Education Infantile program helps young learners build strong foundations in reading, writing, math, and essential life skills through engaging, child-friendly lessons and creative activities. We focus on children who face barriers such as poverty, displacement, disability, or limited access to quality schooling, ensuring they are not left behind. Through learning materials, school supplies, tutoring support, and safe spaces to study, we make education more accessible and motivating. We also encourage positive habits like regular attendance, good study routines, and respectful teamwork, while nurturing confidence and curiosity. By working closely with families, teachers, and local communities, we strengthen the support system around every child and promote equal opportunities for girls and boys. We track progress with care, celebrate improvements, and provide extra help where needed, so each child can move forward at their own pace. Our goal is simple: to help children learn with dignity today and grow into capable, hopeful citizens tomorrow.

Parent, Teacher, and Student Advocacy Program

Our Parent, Teacher, and Student Advocacy Program strengthen the connection between home and school so every child can learn in a safe, supportive environment. We empower parents with awareness of educational rights, communication skills, and practical ways to stay involved in their child’s progress. We support teachers through guidance, resources, and inclusive strategies that help them respond to diverse learning needs with confidence and care. We also amplify student voices by providing safe spaces, mentorship, counseling support, and referrals for concerns such as bullying, absenteeism, academic pressure, or child protection issues. By organizing workshops, community meetings, and collaborative problem-solving sessions, we promote respect, trust, and shared responsibility among families, schools, and communities. Our goal is to remove barriers, resolve challenges early, and ensure that every student feels heard, protected, and motivated to succeed.

Behavior Counseling for Children

Our Behavior Counseling for Children program provides caring, appropriate age support to help children understand their feelings, manage stress, and develop positive behaviors at home, school, and in the community. We work with children who may struggle with anger, anxiety, impulsive behavior, social difficulties, bullying experiences, or changes such as loss, displacement, or family challenges, and we respond without judgment, labeling, or shame. Through one-on-one counseling and small group sessions, we teach practical skills like emotional regulation, healthy communication, problem-solving, empathy, and conflict resolution, using child-friendly tools such as stories, activities, and guided play. We involve parents and caregivers by sharing simple strategies for consistent routines, positive reinforcement, and supportive discipline, so progress continues beyond sessions. We also collaborate with teachers to improve classroom behavior plans and strengthen school-based support where needed. When a child requires specialized care, we provide referrals and help families connect with trusted services. Our approach is confidential, trauma-informed, and focused on dignity, helping each child build self-control, confidence, and stronger relationships. Ultimately, we aim to replace fear and frustration with understanding, growth, and hope, so children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
